Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, あけましておめでとう、etc.
I hope everyone had a good holiday season, and that if you lost power (like I did), it wasn’t out for too long.
I have a few posts percolating (including a review of the hilarious Wreck-It Ralph), but I’ve been “busy” (those video games I got for Christmas and during last semester aren’t going to play themselves (if you import gamers were curious, Tales of Xillia 2 is pretty good), nor are the case surveys I’m doing for the law review going to write themselves!).
Also, I have finally read Cold Days. Jim Butcher is my master now. Ghost Story, while good, was a bit sedate for the series, and Cold Days returns to the nonstop action and wham lines. Hopefully Butcher will be back to his ~1 year per book schedule, instead of the almost 1.5 year per book he’s taken for the last two.
Next on the pile is Iain M. Banks’s Consider Phlebas, the first in his SF series on The Culture.
I may have to start sleeping even less.
Sorry for my absence; I’ve been busy hanging out with friends that I normally don’t see for the rest of the year, and with all the drinking, time has gotten away from me.
Anyway, I hope 2012 is a great year for almost everyone!*
*It wouldn’t kill me if certain people who will remain unnamed had years worse than they hoped. They shall remain unnamed in the vain hope that I will not be put on any more government lists than I already am on.
I guess. And since it’s the year of the rabbit, I thought I could celebrate by posting another cap from Cat Shit One (only two days until it’s free on youtube (for a limited time!)).
Happy Chinese New Year!
Two days late though it may be!
Now that the holidays are over, it’s time to get back on the wagon and rein in my eating habits once more. I’ve had almost three months of eating whatever I want, and the corresponding weight gain is making me miserable.
I aim to finish (finally) Enemy at the Gates, and finish the editing and rewrite of another novel I’ve had sitting around for some time.
I could stand to go shooting more often; I haven’t been since the weather turned, but I need to brave the elements (especially since the weather really isn’t that bad) and get in more practice.
I’ll also try to put more effort into posting regularly; the past month or so, I’ve really thrown in the towel.
Those are my major goals for the year; maybe by not calling them resolutions, I’ll put more work into actually keeping up with them (but I doubt it).
Thanks to everyone who visited last year, and hopefully you’ll continue to show up throughout 2011!
