Blue Dragon, Mistwalker’s first release, was a return to Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi‘s roots; after leaving Square, he created Mistwalker and promptly went to work on  Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest esque JRPG.

The game was well received, even in Japan (where the 360 has had a rough go of it); character designs by the always-popular Akira Toriyama and music by Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu no doubt contributed to its success.

And what would a JRPG be without rockin’ boss music? Blue Dragon takes the idea of rockin’ boss music up to eleven; instead of just instrumental rock, Eternity features the vocals of Deep Purple’s Ian Gillan.
