Sneak Chamber

Shinichiro Watanabe might be best known for Cowboy Bebop, but he’s directed other shows; Samurai Champloo among them.

It’s similar in style to Bebop; the characters are thrown together by chance, and each has his own goals, and music features heavily (hip-hop in this case, jazz in Bebop’s).

Instead of the future, Samurai Champloo is set in the Edo period, with samurai, ronin, and feudal lords all over the place. The action is fluid, the music is good, and it’s just a good time in general.
