“Well, the Second Amendment in this country is part of our Constitution, and the president of the United States is bound by our Constitution. So I believe in the Second Amendment. It does provide for Americans the right to bear arms for their protection, for their safety, for hunting, for a wide range of uses. [emphasis added]
Others have pointed this out already, but the most significant part of this statement from Obama to the Mexican press isn’t that he believes in the second amendment (And how could he not? If he ever doubted, he could drive over to the National Archives and look at it in person); it’s that the first use he lists is the right to bear arms for protection.
Not for hunting.
Not for target shooting.
Not for posterity or as a part of a collection.
For protection.
The Brady bunch and the rest of the Joyce Foundation shills have got to be quaking in their boots over this; like Ian Argent says,
That’s a Chicago Machine politician, folks, unscripted, saying that there is a right to carry. It’s all over but the shouting, of which there’s going to be an awful lot.
